About the project
Hello. My name is Kathryn from SEA Communications. Myself and Robert Woolf are currently working as Senior Design Producers for Dott Cornwall. Dott Cornwall is an innovative programme which involves communities in designing local services. The Design Council, Cornwall Council and University College Falmouth have partnered to deliver the Dott (Designs of the time) programme in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly during 2009/10. See www.dottcornwall.co.uk.
Our project “Designing Communities” asks the question ‘what kind of community facilities & services will improve the lives of people living in Pengegon?’ We are working with CPR Regeneration company to diagnose and co-discover the needs of the local community.
Part of this project is developing a ‘concept plan’ for a possible Community Centre in Pengegon. Before we get to this point, our first objective is learn more about service providers operating in the Pengegon area – in particular, what’s going on in the area, is there a need for a new community building and if so what form this may take?
We have already met or spoken to many of you and from these conversations, we feel it would be beneficial to share knowledge and views via this website.
